Extra information

45-minute timetable

The 45-minute timetable was introduced last year and was a success! With the introduction of a 45-minute timetable, pupils have more time after lessons to work on homework as well as play sports or meet with friends.

New policy for tests

Since this school year, the number of tests have been cut. By doing so, we hope the workload for our pupils is lightened.

There is a maximum number of tests per year, depending on how many hours a week a subject is given:

6 tests for a subject given once or twice a week8 tests for a subject given 3 times a week, 10 tests for a subject given 4 times a week

Key areas

  • A new school building in ‘our own backyard’ in 2024

  • Two-year havo/vwo junior class

  • Excellent pupil guidance, councilling and support

  • Use of laptops as well as books starting next school year (2023-2024)

  • Our robotics team and our drone team (more information under “Extra Subjects”)

Open Day
(January 2022)

What do we do when Covid-19 prevents us from organising an indoor Open Day? We go outside! Stalls, games and music outside; our robot team in the hall and teachers ready and willing to answer any questions,  made it an open day to remember. Both pupils and parents were enthusiastic. And of course, so were we!

This year, we will hold our annual open day on 28 January 2023, indoors as usual!

Our education

Are you looking for a senior school where you can study Havo, Atheneum or Gymnasium (with Latin and/or Greek)? At our school, with our help, you can discover your talents. There will also be time for fun! We organise junior class camps, football and hockey tournaments, parties and school trips. There is a musical every 2 years, as well as a school band and a school orchestra you can join.

What's important to us at the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum?

  • That there's a safe school environment.

  • That each pupil is seen and heard.

  • That individual differences are recognised.

  • That you are challenged at your own level.

  • That you are encouraged to develop your talents to the fullest.

  • That you are properly guided in your own learning process.
